Gamescom 2017 is at the door; from the 22nd – 26th of August we will be at the popular event in Cologne. We’re looking forward to meeting you there to share some of the cool new features we’ve been working on over the past year. Come find us at booth C-024a, in Hall 2.1 (shared with Mobvista). Alternatively, book a meeting in with us directly. We’d love to chat…

Meet the GameAnalytics team

If you’d like to know more about our upcoming features, or if you simply want to learn more about the platform and your specific setup, stop by and say hello to our team; Jaco Els (CEO) and Tomas Piktozis (VP of Business Development). They’d love to have a chat with you and to answer any of your questions. Alternatively, you can schedule a meeting directly here.

Why attend Gamescom?

Gamescom is for sure on the “to-do list” of every game developer in Europe and a great opportunity to get insights about changes in the industry, as well as meeting opportunities. We’re excited to be a part of the world’s second largest gaming event (behind the Asia Game Show), with more than 345,000 visitors, 6,000 journalists, 877 companies and 700 exhibitors from 88 countries attending.

2017 Q2 showed that mobile gaming grew by 32% since last year to $12B worldwide and the next couple of years are expected to be even better for the industry. By 2020 mobile gaming will be dominant and overtake console and PC Games in terms of overall revenue share. As for the markets, Europe is seeing the disruptive growth of APAC (China above all the other countries), which will most likely see this region leading the market for mobile games by 2026.

What to expect from the future?

Fierce competition aside, Europe stills plays an important role in the worldwide gaming industry, even if China, US and Japan outnumber on the domestic market. Europe’s success doesn’t rely on huge numbers or big titles. On the other hand, the continent has a great tradition of Indie developers and small studios that eventually were able to achieve good success and grow into bigger and more structured studios.

Countries such as Finland are experiencing a big spike in the number of titles released, with few famous hits. Check them out! We are proud to collaborate with few of these studios; you can read about their experiences and tips on our blog. We’ve interviewed some of them and we believe that their work and stories could be inspiring for everyone aiming to launch a new game.
